Criminal Background Record Requests
The application for the New Hampshire Criminal Background check can be submitted in two ways.
- In Person
- By Mail
This request should be made between Mondays to Friday from 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
To obtain the New Hampshire Criminal Background record the following information should be complete:
- Name of the subject
- Social Security Number
- Photo identification
- Completed Criminal Record Release Authorization Form (Sections I and II)
The authorization form is a written consent form the subject, to allow the criminal background search. In case the authorization form is not submitted, the subject will be informed about the criminal background search preformed, by the New Hampshire Department of Safety
The New Hampshire criminal records are not free of cost and a fee of $25.00 is charged for each record. This fee is to be submitted along with the application to the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of State Police. The fee is accepted in the form of checks and money orders. Cash is not accepted by the New Hampshire Department of Safety.
